Cost of Residential Driveway Sealcoating
How much does it cost to sealcoat a driveway? This is a common question asked by many homeowners when they either give us a call or fill out a form on our website. In order for us to answer this question we have to ask the homeowner a few things which dictates the price. Out of the several factors the biggest one by far is the size of your driveway. This is because the price is measured by how much resources we the driveway contractor have to use to complete the job. So then what dictates how much resources we have to use?
Size of the driveway
The bigger the surface, the more sealant, equipment use, and labor we need. There is no exact price for this because different companies charge slightly different prices. However, the range is $.12-$.18 per square feet of driveway. So if your driveway is 1000 square feet, we are looking at anywhere from $120 to $160. That is basically to cover our equipment and labor costs of actually doing the sealcoating by a professional sealcoating contractor. If you have some cracks or fillings to cover the pavement before it could be worked on, then we’re charge an additional $20 – $40 on average.
Other factors that come in that equation would be:
It should not surprise you when I tell you that the prices will be different depending on the state you’re talking about as the weather in that state. This is for several reasons but the first one is demand. If you’re living in upper New York, or another state in the very north, due to harsh weather conditions the demand for sealcoating is greater. Therefore the prices start you can charge up there or a little bit higher, then of course there are other things such as minimum wage that are particular to the respective state.
If you are in Austin Texas, the weather is generally on the warmer side – this means you will be able to Sealcoat the driveway anytime of the year. However do keep in mind that there are test range of temperatures and times to get your driveway sealcoated. Not only should you not be done wants to cold, but it also should not be done wanted to hot.
